This pattern was designed for the same size porcelain plate as Pinecones on Porcelain and Kitty Kringle. I used Etching Creme to remove the glaze on the china plate to reveal the beautiful porcelain underneath! The pattern packet gives the complete instructions for the process and uses my pen and ink and rouging to add color. BUT... there is a different twist to this design! I incorporated Daler Rowney FW Airbrush Paint in my tech pen to create a soft brown inked line. I used Antelope Brown and the softness of the inked line lent itself to the overall softness of the rose. Not everything needs a hard black edge in pen and ink! If you would like more details regarding using paint in your tech pen, drop me an email and I can help you. Feel free to adapt the design as well as size to any alternative surface, you need not adhere to the porcelain as a surface choice!
