Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Cindy Harrison.  I have lived in Merrimack, NH since 1993.  I began my career in decorative painting in 1991.  I am a member of the SDP and White Mountain Decorative Painters Guild. I have been afforded the privilege to train under several MDAs, CDAs and other National teachers.  I met Mary at the 1996 Yankee Heritage Retreat.  I was immediately taken with the technique. I did not waste any time signing up for the first class I could attend.  And the rest “is history”.  I received my Certification in 1998. I assisted Mary at the 1998 HOOT Convention, the 2000 Certification Program held in Panama City Beach, FL; managed a MOD Booth at the 1998 Mountain Magic (NH) and at the 2002 NET Convention (RI).

Since 1994, I have been teaching decorative painting at my home and in several shops throughout southern NH.  I receive great pleasure in being able to share my knowledge and talent with people.  I believe painting should be fun and relaxing.  This being said, I try to express to each student: patience, acceptability, self-confidence and arm them with a strong knowledge of techniques.

My studio is set in a relaxing post and beam, knotty pine, heated “three” season room.  The students enjoy the atmosphere and very relaxed method of teaching, which is my motto.  The word “rush” does not exist in my vocabulary.  Creative artistry takes time.  There are only two things I ask of my students: 1) have patience with yourself and 2) have good tools to work with.  Everything else will fall into place.  My classes are kept small to allow every student individual attention.  I enjoy my students “awe-ing” at their accomplish-ments!  And even better…the awes from their family, friends and co-workers.

The classes are also “open” and “on-going”.  I believe, very strongly, that you paint better if you are vested in the project.  “On-going,” enables you to join at any point and pick up where you left off.  You can start something new or bring in something old to finish.  I am here to help you through the areas that might intimidate you or to encourage you to finish that project that is under the bed or in the closet.  Bring it out, let me help you.  There is nothing that together we can’t do.
