My painting life started in 1980 when I took tole painting classes, painting fruit on small board. The teacher at the time made the class feel as though we lacked the "special ability" that she was supposedly was blessed with. Needless to say none of us continued on after the 1st set of classes. In 1996 I found a wonderfully encouraging talented teacher by the name of "Evelyn Richmond" and since then I haven't stopped painting and taking classes with many "big brushes" as my budget and time will allow. Approximately 11 years ago I started teaching in my home based studio. I do my utmost to encourage anyone taking lessons with me, to feel confident about their ability to learn to paint. I thoroughly enjoy teaching; I am a people person and have made many good friends through this wonderful art form. I have also acted as an Ambassador for Deco Americana and wholesale company by the name of C.C.W. for a period of time, doing some travel teaching throughout British Columbia and Alberta. I was thrilled to get my certification with Mary. My students are completely captivated by the technique, as it allows someone with very little panting experience as well as the advanced to paint lovely canvas pictures.
Thank You Shirley Bridle
