I became interested in pen and ink in high school when I created a drawing of Julius Caeser and won an award at Henry Ford’s Greenfield Village Museum.
Then putting my artistic abilities aside to enter the job market, for the next thirty years I went from traditional art to computerized art and was the sole graphic designer at Cadillac Motor Car Division.
Eight or nine years ago I began painting again but in acrylics, never dreaming that pen and ink was so popular in this day and age, until I met Mary Owens and attended some of her seminars. I quickly became hooked and as anyone can tell you who knows Mary, her enthusiasm and love for the technique is communicated very rapidly.
I attended Mary’s Certification Program in New York in July of 2003 and am now a proud CMOT.
My home studio provides a relaxing yet stimulating environment for learning. . At home I have no more than 6 students, allowing me to give special attention to each one.
Classes are also available at the City of Leesburg Parks & Recreation, Hobby Lobby in Ocala, Whispering Pines in Inverness and Jean’s Crafts in Belleview. I also travel teach. I will be teaching classes at Maggie Valley, North Carolina where I will be teaching a week long series of classes in the summer.
I have to mention that I could not do this without the support and encouragement of my husband, Don. He has been a tremendous help to me and without him it wouldn’t be possible for me to pursue my dream.
If you are interested in learning this wonderful technique, please call me regarding my classes, traveling teaching or if you would like a group seminar in your area. I have availability to all of Mary’s products and have extensive knowledge of the KopyArt Projector.
