I am totally blessed to be living in one of the most beautiful areas of the United States!  We are tucked away in the northeast corner of Georgia, not far from North & South Carolina and Tennessee at the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains!  My husband, Jack, and I are living on property that has been in my family since the 1930’s.  As a matter of fact, my son, Jason, his wife, Heather, and their three children, Skyler, Layla and Sydney Beth live next to us in the house my grandfather built in 1936.

I have worked at some craft all my life but never really got into painting until 2000 when I took my first “tole painting” class.  I jumped in with both feet and have not stopped since!  About four years ago, Mary Owens came to do a seminar at our SDP Chapter, Mountain Ivy Decorative Artists.  Well, it was love at first stroke of that pen!  I have continued taking seminars with Mary every year when she comes to a studio in Royston, GA.  I finally decided to stop wasting time and become a certified teacher of pen and ink with oil rouging in 2010.  I still enjoy other forms of painting but this is my absolute favorite.
