Hello, my name is Judy Butler and I live in Alvin, Texas. I am so excited and pleased to bring this wonderful, fun and easy technique to Texas!
I had been painting (in oils) for about eight years and had tried lots of other techniques, taken many classes and spent lots of time and money trying to learn other techniques of painting when I found a project by Mary Owens in a magazine and decided to try it. I had no luck on my own so I searched for a teacher in Texas...there were none!
I later learned that Mary Owens, herself, would be teaching at a painting convention in Houston, so I took every class she offered and instantly fell in love with Mary and with her Pen & Ink with Oil Rouging technique!
I was thrilled when I was invited to take her Certification Course! I joined Mary, four ladies from other states and two others from Texas in Reno, NV in November, 2006 for a very intense week of training in the technique. I then completed my certification in December, 2006 and began teaching.
I am a wife, a mom and I love being Nana to my two wonderful grandsons for sure, but being a CMOT (Certified Mary Owens Teacher) is so exciting for me! I want to thank Mary for being who she is, for sharing and giving so much of herself and for giving me the opportunity.
The Pen & Ink with Oil Rouging technique has become my passion and I am so excited to be able to share it and to help those who think they can't paint create beautiful, unique pieces they will be proud of!
