Pen & Ink with Rouged Oils
This design was one of my certification projects. I wanted to incorporate some unique twists so this will be a lot of fun for you! As always; you can work on any surface size as well as choice . Enlarge or reduce the pattern to fit whatever you wish. On the painting cruise to Cozumel; I taught this project on basecoated slate pieces and it was so awesome to see it adapted to the different size as well as the unique surface of the slate. What is unique is the fact that you can basecoat the birdhouse, roof, flowers, and leaves with regular acrylic. After applying the basecoat, you seal with matte spray and then add the ink texturing over the basecoat. I encourage students to try this with other designs they have collected through the years.
As a seminar choice: If projectors are going to be
incorporated into the class, we can enlarge or reduce the design to
fit the students choice of surfaces. According to my portfolio,
materials needed for class are listed.
