| I live in the
little town of Segrave, Ontario, with my son, Joey.
I started doing folk art in 1995. The first piece that I did was a 5' scarecrow that I named Jake. I learned to do Jake in exchange for sewing an outfit for a friend. I was hooked from that first piece. I wanted to learn more about folk art and started taking classes. I fell in love with this way of painting. I started to take more and more classes from different people. I would say I had the painting bug. I started teaching in February of 1996. I taught in Brampton once a month and at home on a weekly basis. I was introduced to Mary's technique a few years ago and took her Certification Seminar in Lockport in May 1999. I now travel teach, (only for Mary Owens Technique). I teach at Michael's once a month, and I still teach at home. When I took Mary Owens Certification Seminar in May 1999, I had the best time of my life. I learned so much to share with others. I love sharing the knowledge of this technique with others. Since taking Mary's seminar I have been teaching her technique. I have even taught to friends and family when they come for tea. I have been working on some pattern packets of my own. The first ones will be out soon.
