Patricia Ann Byczynski 6458 Lancelot Rd. Sylvania, Ohio 43560 1-419-882-5292 padoby@buckeye-express.com
Pat has had a long time love of the arts. Her natural ability is apparent by the variety of mediums she has accomplished and taught over the years, including quilling, acrylics, woodcraft painting, stained glass, dried/silk florals [wreaths], cut and pierced lampshades, airbrush, ceramics, fabric painting, a little poetry writing, and now pen and ink and oil rouging. Her work has been honored with several first place and special contest awards at the Lucas County [Ohio] Fair. There truly isn't a creative endeavor she won't take on and conquer!
Pat believes in individuality and enjoys creating and designing unique things. She applies this philosophy to her classes, encouraging students to customize designs and colors to match their own style.
Having done many Pen/Ink Oil Rouging classes and using the Opaque Projector with her teacher, Mary Owens; Pat decided to take Mary's certification course in June 2001, and was certified as an instructor by Mary Owens in October of 2001.
Pat is a member of the National Society of Decorative Painters and The Glass Capital Decorative Artists [formerly Tole Mates of NW Ohio]. She continually expands her knowledge by attending numerous workshops each year taught by well-known artists as well as attending national, state and local painting conventions.
She and her husband Don have been married 41 years, have two grown children and are grandparents. Don supports Pat's artist ventures by cutting the wood she works on and providing encouragement.
Pat teaches a variety of classes at her in-home studio, including the Pen/Ink-Oil Rouging technique as well as acrylics and other art mediums she has an interest in. She has access to Mary's packets for purchase as well as painting materials.
Pat has designed a new teaching tool that is now on the market. This tool is called "Pen and Ink Pressure Block". It is a tool to help teachers put students in touch with the know how of using the Koh I Noor Technical Pen when inking. It teaches the students the proper application of pressure to the surface they are working on. A simple tool, but a beneficial one also. Additional information is available by emailing Pat at her address above or calling her at home.
