11/18/2009 - Fall Newsletter
Happy Autumn to all!
This has been such a busy year and the months have literally flown by! Seems like last week we were thinking about what to plan for the 4th of July!! Conventions were successful, we did awesome up in Quebec. I just got home from Sarah Carey’s studio in Georgia. What a wonderful weekend there! It was so nice we sat on her front porch in the evening after class and it was wonderful to come into milder weather!
This is going to be a short newsletter; not too much new to report. Have you checked my helpful hint section on the website? I have so many tricks that students and other teachers share with me, I decided to post them so you can view the new ones and review the older ones!
Just and FYI if you noticed on the website, Cindi announced that we will no longer use American Express and Discover credit cards. Just too expensive [the fees are out of sight]!
I am done travel teaching for the year except for a local seminar we are hosting for the first weekend in December. Pictures are posted to the website, and this will be a nice way to end classes til after the New Year. I feel so bad that the Michigan Convention hosted by Valley Tole has been cancelled. I guess the economy is affecting everyone in some way or another. That was always something to look forward to after the holidays...kind of like getting back into the saddle and starting the New Year with a bang!
February can be so dreary, we so look forward to our Enrichment Education Program [EEP] that we gather for in Florida! Our certified teachers have come together for 6 years now; to share new designs and have a really good time at Carol Adam’s studio in Bushnell! Really nice to get away from the snow, hang out with the teachers and enjoy Carol’s catered meals! Carol and her husband Bob are wonderful hosts and it has become a tradition we look forward to every year! Bob built Carol a wonderful and cozy studio, and we hope that this tradition continues for many years to come!
We were saddened to learn of the passing of Johnnie Liliedahl. She will be missed by everyone in the art community. I visited her website and was amazed at how awesome her studio is and her schedule of classes!
I have some new designs I am working on while I have the next few months off. It is great to have some down time to create new pieces. Watch the website for new releases.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas! See you in the New Year!
Love and God bless!
Mary, Cindi, Ralph, and Lynn!
